HSWC Announces 13th Annual LuHowl
The Humane Society of Washington County (HSWC) will host the 13th Annual LuHowl fundraising auction on Saturday, June 9th from 5 pm to 9 pm at Historic Milestone Farm in Williamsport, MD.
During the Hawaiian-themed evening, attendees can bid on auction items donated by individuals and businesses throughout the community, including pet portrait sessions, jewelry, private ski lessons, original artwork, and more. In addition to enjoying heavy hors d’oeuvres catered by Dutch’s Daughter of Frederick, drinks, music and dancing, guests are also welcome to tour a private car museum owned by Don Bowman.
“We invite animal lovers to join us for a fun summer kick-off event! We have so many incredible auction items and there is something for everyone,” said Teresa Dick, Corporate Partnership and Events Manager. “Guests will love what we have in store this year and, at the end of the exciting evening, will leave the event knowing they truly made a difference in the lives of the animals.”
The 5th Annual Jone Bowman Champ Award will also be presented at the event. Chosen based upon his history of advocacy for both the HSWC and animals throughout the community, this year’s award will be presented to Ed Prince. Mr. Prince has been an active volunteer at HSWC since 2013, arriving at the shelter early in the morning when he’s needed most and taking charge of the prep room’s needs. He has volunteered over 2,369 hours and is eager to tell stories of how the shelter gives him purpose. In addition, Mr. Prince helps throughout the community by keeping food and water in his vehicle for animals he sees on the street.
Tickets are $50 per person in advance and $60 at the door. They can be purchased online at hswcmd.org or at the shelter. All proceeds from the event benefit spay/neuter programs for animals at HSWC.
