The Humane Society of Washington County (HSWC) will host the 14th Annual LuHowl fundraising auction on Saturday, June 15th from 5 pm to 9 pm at Historic Milestone Farm in Williamsport, MD.

During the Hawaiian-themed evening, attendees can bid on auction items donated by individuals and businesses throughout the community, including indoor skydiving, spa packages, signed sports memorabilia, jewelry, and more.  In addition to enjoying heavy hors d’oeuvres graciously sponsored by Dutch’s Daughter of Frederick, drinks, music and dancing, guests are also welcome to tour a private car museum owned by Don Bowman.

“We invite you to join us for a fun summer kick-off event! We have many wonderful auction items and there are some exciting additions this year,” said Teresa Dick, Corporate Partnership and Events Manager. “A special animal ambassador will be in attendance, and at the end of the evening, guests will leave knowing their support truly makes a difference in the lives of the animals every day.”

The 6th Annual Jone Bowman Champ Award will also be presented at the event. This year’s award is being presented to April Frusher-Boyle. April has been an active volunteer at HSWC since 2016. During this time, she has gone above and beyond for the shelter’s animals and visitors. She is incredibly active in HSWC’s foster program, doing everything from bottle feeding kittens and entering data to training new foster families. April also teaches Dogs 101 and Cats 101 classes to new volunteers and regularly gives tours to school groups and clubs. In addition, she has played a pivotal role in developing and growing the neonatal foster program.

Tickets are $50 per person in advance and $60 at the door. They can be purchased online at or at the shelter. All proceeds from the event benefit spay/neuter programs for animals at HSWC.
