HSWC Announces Dates for 2018 Low Cost Rabies Clinics

The Humane Society of Washington County (HSWC) has announced dates for the 2018 Washington County Low Cost Rabies Vaccination, Microchip and Licensing Clinics.

The two offsite clinics provide an important service to the community by offering an opportunity for area residents to protect their animals against a highly infectious and dangerous disease. These clinics help further the HSWC’s mission of encouraging responsible pet guardianship of animals that already have a loving home.

“HSWC is pleased to help Washington County fulfill its requirement to provide rabies vaccination clinics to its citizens,” said President/CEO Kimberley Intino.  “We are happy that, in addition to the Wellness Clinics offered at the shelter, we are also able to provide clinics at offsite locations to better serve our community.”

The dates and locations for the clinics are as follows:

Saturday, April 14th at the Washington County Agricultural Center
7313 Sharpsburg Pike, Boonsboro

Saturday, September 22nd at Hagerstown Speedway
15112 National Pike, Hagerstown

Both clinics are held from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm.  Rabies vaccinations are $15.00 per animal, and individuals are required to bring a previous rabies certificate to receive a three year rabies vaccination and certificate. Microchips are $15.00 per animal.  Washington County residents may also purchase a Washington County Dog License, which range in price from $5.00 - $25.00. Cash or credit cards are accepted. No checks please.

The clinics are open for dogs, cats and ferrets, and all animals must be at least 3 months of age to be vaccinated.  Dogs must be leashed or in carriers.  All cats and ferrets must be in carriers.
