HSWC Announces Dates for 2019 Low Cost Rabies Clinics
The Humane Society of Washington County (HSWC) has announced dates for the 2019 Washington County Low Cost Rabies Vaccination, Microchip and Licensing Clinics.
The clinics, two offsite and one at HSWC, provide an important service to the community by offering an opportunity for area residents to protect their animals against a highly infectious and dangerous disease. These clinics help further HSWC’s mission of encouraging responsible pet guardianship of animals that already have a loving home.
“HSWC is thrilled to play a part in helping Washington County provide rabies vaccinations to its citizens. It is really important to us that, in addition to the Wellness Clinics offered at the shelter, we are able to provide clinics at other locations throughout the county to reach pets that may not be able to come to the shelter,” said Amanda Bonetti, Veterinary Operations Director. “We want to ensure everyone in our community has access to these vital, life-saving vaccines and services.”
The dates and locations for the clinics are as follows:
Saturday, August 31th at Shafer Park – Pavilion 1
Park Lane, Boonsboro, MD
Saturday, September 28th at HSWC
13011 Maugansville Road, Hagerstown, MD
Saturday, October 26th at Fairgrounds Park
351 N Cleveland Avenue, Hagerstown, MD
All clinics are held from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm. Rabies vaccinations are $5.00 per animal for county residents and $10 per animal for non-residents. Individuals are required to bring a previous rabies certificate to receive a three year rabies vaccination and certificate. Microchips are $15.00 per animal. Washington County residents may also purchase a Washington County Dog License, which range in price from $5.00 - $25.00. Cash or credit cards are accepted. No checks please.
The clinics are open for dogs, cats and ferrets, and all animals must be at least 4 months of age to be vaccinated. Dogs must be leashed or in carriers. All cats and ferrets must be in carriers.
