THE HSWC IS READY TO MAKE A SPLASH WITH 13TH ANNUAL POOCH PLUNGE
The Humane Society of Washington County will be hosting two Pooch Plunges next month, marking the 13th year for these events. The first plunge will be held on Wednesday, September 7 at Claude M. Potterfield Pool in Hagerstown, with the second occurring on Monday, September 12 at Marty Snook Pool in Hagerstown.
People are encouraged to come and have an evening of fun with their canine friends. It is a popular event that both dogs and their owners enjoy coming back to year after year.
“This is one of our unique events that participants can actually enjoy with their canine companions,” said Nikki Houser, Corporate Partnership and Events Coordinator. “The staff and volunteers love to watch the dogs playing in the water and socializing. We often see HSWC alumni at this event, which is always great to see how they are doing.”
Last year’s plunge raised over $2,000 with a participation of over 200 dogs between the two events. The HSWC is hoping to draw more dogs and participants to this year’s plunges. The funds raised through these events go towards general shelter operations.
Both Pooch Plunges will begin at 6:00 pm and last until 8:00 pm, weather permitting. Admission is $5 per dog and people may enter by donation. All proceeds will benefit the Humane Society of Washington County. For more information, call 301-733-2060 ext. 239.
