WCPS Students Donate to Animals During Holidays

Fourteen Washington County Public Schools are participating in an annual program called “Home for the Holidays” to procure donations for the Humane Society of Washington County. Students of all ages are collecting donations and bringing them into their schools in time for the December 22nd pick-up day. The amount that the students donate covers the bulk of the HSWC’s needs for the first quarter of the New Year.

The Humane Society of Washington County is waiving cat adoption fees for the remainder of the year in an effort to send all cats “home for the holidays.” “There is no better place for our felines to have a ‘wonderful life’ than home,” Adoptions Supervisor Cathy Jacques said. “We are hoping that all of our adoptable cats can spend the holidays with their new families!” Cat adoption fees will be waived through December 31st.

Holiday Honor Tree Ornament Fundraiser

The Humane Society of Washington County will be hosting a Holiday Honor Tree fundraiser throughout the month of December. The fundraiser will offer HSWC supporters the opportunity to honor their beloved pets by purchasing an ornament to be hung on the official holiday tree in the Humane Society Adoptions Center. The ornament will be personalized with the pet’s name.

The Humane Society of Washington County will be holding the 14th Annual Polar Bear Plunge at Greenbrier State Park on Saturday, January 14, 2017. “This is our biggest event of the year and we hope it continues to grow,” said HSWC Corporate Partnership and Events Coordinator Nikki Houser.  “It’s a family-friendly, memorable event. HSWC Announces Pet Photos with Santa Day

The Humane Society of Washington County will be holding the 2nd Annual Pet Photo with Santa fundraiser at the HSWC on Saturday, December 3rd from 11 am to 3 pm. “This was such a fun event last year,” said Development Director Addie Nardi.  “Santa and Mrs. Claus were so excited to come back and do it again and pictures will be ready just in time for the holidays!”

The Humane Society of Washington County will be partnering with Sharrett Subaru for the 3rd Annual Adoption Event and Pet Photo Fundraiser on Saturday, November 19th from 11 am to 4 pm. “Sharrett Subaru is proud to again partner with the Humane Society of Washington County for our third adoption event,” said Administrative and Marketing Assistant Letti Palmer.  “It’s a wonderful opportunity for us to support the work they do in the community.”
