With Independence Day celebrations approaching, the Humane Society of Washington County would like to remind pet owners that fireworks can be a scary experience for their animals. Waived Cat Adoption Fees in July for Maryland 2,000

To save and find homes for the thousands of homeless cats and kittens in Washington County and all across Maryland, Humane Society of Washington County (HSWC) is teaming up with 19 other shelters in the state to participate in the second annual Maryland 2,000 Saving Lives Across Maryland adoption event. 11 Dogs Transferred to HSWC from Huntsville, AL

Eleven dogs have been transferred from Huntsville, AL to the Humane Society of Washington County (HSWC). Six adult dogs and five puppies were transported by the Greater Huntsville Humane Society to Hagerstown as a result of overcrowding in their shelter.

HSWC Announces Dates for 2018 Low Cost Rabies Clinics

The Humane Society of Washington County (HSWC) has announced dates for the 2018 Washington County Low Cost Rabies Vaccination, Microchip and Licensing Clinics. The two offsite clinics provide an important service to the community by offering an opportunity for area residents to protect their animals against a highly infectious and dangerous disease. These clinics help further the HSWC’s mission of encouraging responsible pet guardianship of animals that already have a loving home.

The Humane Society of Washington County will be closed on Wednesday, March 21 due to inclement weather. The Wellness Clinic scheduled for this day is canceled.  Don't worry about our furry friends.
