HSWC Announces 12th Annual LuHowl
The Humane Society of Washington County (HSWC) will host the 12th Annual LuHowl fundraiser for homeless animals on Saturday, June 10th from 6 pm to 9 pm at Historic Milestone Farm in Williamsport, MD.
“We’re very excited about some unique and different things happening at LuHowl this year,” said Nikki Houser, Corporate Partnership and Event Manager. “In addition to our traditional silent auction, there will be a new live auction. Guests can also expect to see an authentic hula dancing performance.”
During the Hawaiian-themed event, attendees can bid on auction items donated by numerous individuals and businesses in the community, including overnight getaways, wine-tasting excursions, jewelry, and original artwork. In addition to enjoying heavy hors d’oeuvres, drinks, music and dancing, guests are also welcome to tour a private car museum, owned by Don Bowman.
The 4th Annual Jone Bowman Champ Award will also be presented at the event. Chosen based upon her history of advocacy for both the HSWC and animals throughout the community, this year’s award will be presented to Linda Domer. Ms. Domer volunteers as a dog trainer at the shelter and offers her services to adopted dogs requiring additional manners training. She also championed the Happy Hounds Prison Dog Program, which trains inmates to become canine handlers so dogs can learn obedience while awaiting adoption.
“We invite everyone to come and enjoy a fun and relaxing evening to kick off summer,” said Houser. “Not only is LuHowl a great fundraiser for the animals, it’s also a wonderful way for people to meet fellow animal lovers in this community.”
Tickets are $50.00 per person and can be purchased online at hswcmd.org or at the front desk of the shelter. All proceeds from the event benefit spay/neuter programs for animals at the HSWC.
