The adoption floors close for Nap Time from 12 pm - 1 pm daily.
Adoptions end at 5:30 pm daily.
HSWC no longer describes dogs that are available for adoption by their breed. Despite using our best judgement, numerous DNA tests completed by adopters have shown results that did not correspond with the breed type we publicized. Rather than unintentionally describing a dog with an inaccurate breed, HSWC now describes our dogs by their size. Canine size descriptions and their corresponding weight ranges are as follows:

You can also find equine friends that can be adopted through Days End Farm Horse Rescue or Maryland Horse Rescue! These are great organizations that rehome horses who have been part of cruelty cases or were in need of rehabilitation. Check them out!
